Local Golf Courses
La Finca Golf Course
The La Finca golf club lies in natural surroundings
of great beauty and with fantastic views.
Its facilities are open to those people
who want to play golf in the heart of nature
while being able to enjoy the beaches, sailing
clubs and a host of other facilities and
services just a few minutes away.
It is the newest course in the province
of Alicante and while it has been open to
the public for some weeks it has not yet
been inaugurated officially. La Finca golf
course is situated at the foot of Mount
Escotera, in the municipality of Algorfa,
right in the heart of the Segura region.
Designed to host top tournaments, La Finca
golf course has the greatest variety of
greens of any course on the Costa Blanca,
ranging in size from very large to very
small. In addition, the course has a reserve
hole so that, in the event that one of the
holes has to be closed off unexpectedly,
players are still able to complete a full
18-hole round.
Several lakes with running water and reed
beds along the course add beauty and difficulty
to the game, and have made the course the
home of a wide variety of migratory water
birds, such as ducks and egrets, while the
interior of the course is home to olive
and palm trees, thus creating a beautiful
backdrop of vegetation with a distinctly
Mediterranean flavour.
This golf course was completed in 2002 and
designed by D. Jose Gancedo. The putting
greens are Pencross and the greens is bermuda
grass.
There are 18 holes and a par 72.
You can play from 8am to end of the solar
light.
Excellent tees, greens and fairway. This
golf course is highly recommended as the
course is on two levels and the bunkers
are placed in just the right places to catch
the misdirected balls.

Campoamor
The Real Club de Golf Campoamor, built
on a former country estate and surrounded
by beautiful unspoilt countryside, was
designed to take advantage of the unusual
terrain of the area.
Its 18 holes run through two connected
valleys surrounded by low, gently undulating
ridges which protect it from the wind
and create a special microclimate which
allows people to play golf all the year
round.
The course is situated about 100 meters
above sea level, and is bordered to the
south by the Tagus-Segura canal.
In addition to this attractive and original
layout, with marvelous views over the
intense blue of the Mediterranean, the
special features of the course create
difficult rounds for experienced players
and simpler ones for those new to the
sport.
Campoamor Golf Club, longer than the other
courses in the area, but the fairways
are wider so there's more room to "have
a go"! Built in 2 valleys, lush fairways
and fast greens, with palm, pine and orange
trees. Impressive clubhouse, restaurant
and bars, but the pro shop hasn't got
much apart from clothes and balls. Beautiful
course, give it a try, you will love it.

Villa Martin
Villamartin, one of the best
(golf) courses in Spain, probably the
best in this region and also hosted
the Spanish Open" Fore! magazine, January
2000.
"Villamartin, Relish your time in this
millionaires playground.
Why you should play. The place oozes
class as soon as you wander through
the entrance gardens complete with fountain
and statue of an angelic lady golfer.
You won't be disappointed by the 6037
metre, par 72 course either. There are
some great holes and plenty of expensive
eye-catching mansions on the courses
perimeter. You'll love it. Wish you
were here?
Best bit. A difficult one as there's
such a healthy choice but the 303 metre
par four 7th, a downhill dogleg right
to a green surrounded by cork trees,
takes some beating. There's a gem of
a finale too- an elevated tee where
you drive over yet more trees, the hole
turning abruptly left and the fairway
looking wafer-thin from your position
up in the clouds. Well, almost." Today's
Golfer magazine, January 2001

Alenda Golf Course
Alenda Golf is an
entertaining course for golfers of any
level and it requires skill and precision
in both long drives and putts. Opened
in 1999 and designed by Roland Favrat,
Alenda Golf has gently rolling fairways
and the greens have tricky slopes that
requires a good line and putting stroke.
The
course has elevated greens which offer
a challenge to any standard of golfer
and the tee shots also require good positioning.
The first 9 holes of the course are wide
and lined by trees, whereas the last 9
holes require a great deal of concentration,
as this is the technical part of the course
where accuracy is more important than
distance. The course offers stunning views
across the mountains and the Mediterranean.

Banalba
Bonalba
Golf Course, with 18 holes, a par of 72,
and a total length of 6,367 meters (approx.
7,000 yards), was created, as many other
golf courses in the tourist areas, as a
part of an enterprising Real Estate Project
with more than 3,000 houses (villas, apartments,
detached and semi-detached houses…), developed
by the Grupo Alicante Urbana.
Bonalba
Golf Course is located close to the Mediterranean
in the Municipality of Muchamiel, in Alicante
(Spain).
The
annual average temperature of 18 º C, together
with being merely 2 km. away from the Playa
de San Juan (San Juan Beach) make Bonalba
an exceptional setting to play golf all
year round, and also a preferential destination
for the golf players of the North of Europe.
Notwithstanding the
fact that it is one of the most recently
created Golf Courses in the Comunidad Valenciana
(Autonomous Community of Valencia), it already
has a great number of visitors. It was opened
on October 1995, and it receives more than
60,000 players each year; thus confirming
that it is a Commercial Course, while, on
the other hand, this also proves its quality.
Relevant events have taken place here, such
as the Final Round of the National Professional
Golf Circuit in 97 and 98, the Spanish Junior
and Boys Tournaments in the year 2000, as
well as the Costa Blanca Challenge, and
the European Challenge Tour that same year.
The
variety of its vegetation, lakes and water
hazards, its great number of bunkers and
its wide greens arranged in an amusing design
made by Ramón Espinosa make Bonalba an interesting
and appealing challenge for the amateur
golfer as well as for the professionals.
A
slope rating of 132 on the yellow bars shows
us the degree of difficulty of the course.
The first 9 holes are quite technical, as
the golfer has to avoid three of the five
existent lakes, which play an important
role in five of the first nine holes of
the round. The three last holes of the first
part of the round can spoil even the best
score card, as they are the handicap 1 (par
4), 13 ( par 3), and 3 (par 4) in the course.
These 3 holes have been called by the local
golfers the "Amen Corner" of Bonalba.
The
second 9 holes, being also quite technical,
require a stronger stroke, they are holes
where the dominant breeze from Levante makes
it difficult to reach the green, normally
forcing the golfers to use more "woods"
than usual, especially on holes 16, 17,
and 18, where the breeze blows right into
the faces of the golfers.
